What is ELLABB?

ELLABB is a website for language learners to share how we use online resources, new technology, and employ simple ideas to learn languages faster, more efficiently, on our free time, with smart phones apps, while commuting, by meeting tandem partners and native speaker friends in cafes, at meetup.com groups, on Skype, in conversation groups, etc. ELLABB is centered in Berlin and based on the belief that language learning should be free, fun, fast, and social.

About the Site Author

My name is Edward Tanguay, I am an American living in Berlin. I created ELLABB as a way to focus on my goal of becoming fluent in six languages by 2020. I am a software developer and create my own software and mobile apps to more effectively learn languages on my spare time while traveling, walking, and running around Berlin. I have a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and a Master's in Education. I currently work for Modula4 in Berlin as a Technical Integrator and also make software training videos for video2brain in Graz, Austria. Look for the next Sony Center World Languages Swing Party early in June at the Sony Center Cinestar bar (Potsdamer Platz) with dance lessons followed by a swing concert: SPAGHETTI SWING & SAMBA is an Italian duo featuring "old Swing Jazz songs in gypsy Manouche style and Brazilian sambas" and lounge classics. All are welcome. About 150 people were at the March party. The open party is known for bringing together people of all ages from everywhere on the globe in an atmosphere of live music and many languages.
